We need this for the Progress report. We are at crunch time now for the report - so if you have not sent me this information yet, please do so ASAP. All I need is the citation, I don't need the paper. Your attention to this is greatly appreciated. The problem was also present this morning, but I was able to restore normal coloration by trial and error, eventually "fixing" the problem when I move the projector around and the hue suddenly became normal again. The problem is that the VGA connectors at the back of the projector are under a lot of stress from the heave VGA cable. It seem that the weight of the cables is causing the connection to fail, leading to one of the colors going out. We will likely order a replacement cable that will be a lot lighter and that should solve the problem. In the mean time, don't touch the projector if it is looking OK. If the projector is producing a funny hue, you might try adjusting the position of the red, green, and blue cables at the back of the projector. Casey, Ryan, or myself might also be able to help you as well if we are available. The computer (pajarito) and new monitor (paradigm2) have been added to the matrix switcher, but none of the original connections or equipment were changed, so if you don't plan to take advantage of the new equipment, your experiments should be unaffected (aside from a bit of crowding). His is currently transitioning to this new position, working half time as the scanner tech and half time at his new job. His last day will be on August 29th. We will miss having Casey's knowledge and experienced help running the scanner. I am happy to report, though, that we have hired a new 3T scanner tech. Andrea Schweikert will start work on Monday, July 28th. As part of her training, she will be spending a lot of time in the 3T console room observing scans. Her presence in the console room, however, is at the discretion of the scanner operator. Please let her know if you would rather she NOT be in the room during the scan. Yesterday morning the scanner stopped in the middle of an FMRI scan and would not continue running. The user called me and I was able to get the scanner running after performing a series of reboots on the scanner components. This morning the scanner did not come back the full shutdown and restart. The user called me and I was able to walk them through a second restart, after which the scanner was usable again. I am going to contact Siemens and have them send someone to run a diagnostic on the system. The scanner is generating some error logs, so I expect that there is a minor problem with the system, and hopefully Siemens will be able to fix this problem. The scanner is currently booked solid, however, from 8-9 today and from 8-6 tomorrow, and was used from 8-9 yesterday. It is certainly possible that we will run into more problems with the scanner over the next several days. These problems may lead to delays in the schedule if the system goes down again of might necessitate the canceling of scans if the system doesn't come back properly. As always, your understanding is appreciated. Also, given how full the scanner schedule is currently, it is critical that all users use proper scanner etiquette. Make sure you are completed out of the room when your study is scheduled to be completed. Best, Bryon
