Dr. Gregor Adriany is a Research Associate/Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiology. The main focus of his work is the design and implementation of RF coils and related front-end components. Furthermore he assist Dr. Andersen with the magnet and system maintanance and the installations of new magnets. He received a MSEE from the RWTH University of Aachen, Germany in 1992. From 1992 to1993 he worked for the Siemens Medical Systems RF coil design group.

His master thesis work was the design of a four channel breast array coil for Siemens Medical Systems, Erlangen, Germany. He joined our lab in 1994 to pursue a Ph.D in Electrical Engineering working on very high field array coil technology. After graduating with a Ph.D in 1998 he continued as a staff scientist.

Current Research Projects:

  • 7T Parallel Imaging Arrays.
  • Transmit Arrays.
  • Actively switched Transmit - Receive coil combinations
  • Implementation of TEM body coils for our large bore systems.
  • Specialty coils for the small bore systems.
